Yesterday, I was lucky enough to be invited
to the Fashion Monitor’s Beauty Lounge at the Mayfair Hotel, London. The lounge was set up for busy bloggers and journalists who visit the designer shows over
London Fashion Weekend, as a place to relax and enjoy some super-dupper
treatments. The treatments on offer included makeovers by Bourjois, using their
latest collection, Barry M’s nail bar, and a professional hair stylist team from
Vidal Sassoon, showing the latest 'hot off the catwalk' styles.
I couldn’t wait to get glammed up… and boy
was I the luckiest teen in town! Firstly, I had a stunning makeover by a
backstage Bourjois artist, fresh from the Orla Kiely show. The makeup she did
on me focused on the eyes using Bourjois’ new Quad Eyeshadow in shade Upside Down
Brown. I adore this smokey eye effect, which is really easy to re-create and
perfect for a girls night out! The brilliant cream to powder texture is densely
pigmented, creating a sculpted smoked effect, seen on my favourite style icons
Cara Delevigne, Barbara Palvin, Suki Waterhouse to name a few…There is a fourth
shade in the palette that works to transform your smokey eye look from day to night, by
layering over a shimmer finish topcoat shadow. These clever palettes are launching next month
with a wide range of colours, costing only £7.99, what a bargain!

Sasson’s teams of stylists were on hand to
groom the guest’s hair into a sassy style. They were show casing their
professional styling range, including essential products to make hair styling
effective. I opted for twisted curls; sections of my hair were tonged and
finished off with Sasson’s Edit Hold hair spray; an amazingly light finishing
spray which added a lovely shine without any stiffness. I absolutely love this
product; it didn’t feel like I had anything on my hair. It also had a lasting hold (unlike
most of the hairsprays I’ve tried) To top it all off, their collection smelt
divine and I even got to take home Sasson’s Illuminating mini conditioner for
coloured hair and Heat Shape protective styling spray. I love this brand, and I
can’t wait to test out more of the range.

Barry M’s new Gelly High-Shine Autumn/Winter
range featured lilac purples and mustard yellows. I loved their new Matte
Topcoat polish, as if by magic, turning any nail polish into a matte colour.
This is definitely on trend and I will be using this product a lot!
Food, drinks and treats were also available throughout the evening (to my delight!), and the wonderful waitresses went out their way to ensure that all guests were spoilt for choice!

The atmosphere was very chilled. You could
relax on the comfy sofas, whilst watching live footage of designer shows from
the catwalks at Somerset House. How cool is that? The hotel suite was comfortable with a funky bright pink master bed as a focal point. The perfect setting for this year's Fashion set! Looking forward to next season.
